"PLASTIC LANDSCAPE"
18th Edition of Girona Architecture Awards
Thomas Cole reflected in his paintings "The Architect's Dream" (1840) the architecture of different styles in an imaginary landscape. Arquitectura Viva illustrates on the covers of their directories a concoction of the most representative works of the year.
Similarly, in Plastic Landscape (Paisaje Plástico) we seek to collect all the selected works for the 18th edition of the Architecture Awards of Girona, and create a space of representation, an artificial spot where the public can walk among the highlights of these works.
The exhibition space is divided into a series vertical surfaces generated with industrial curtains of transparent PVC. Scenes can be crossed flapping the images that vary from every point of the exhibition. The audience becomes spectator and actor inhabiting this plastic landscape. The visions of the works overlap weightless, playing with transparencies and creating a game of reflections, where you can stroll, look and touch. The set up is a small dynamic theatre; it generates a depth space and varies with every step and under each gaze, but above all with each involved actor.
